Summaries
The sub-pages list all of the countries I have visited outside North America. These trips were all relatively short, since I was able to travel after receiving invitations to present at philosophy conferences, and they last for two to three days, tops. I stayed a little longer depending on my teaching schedule and available funds.
The Netherlands + Paris, 2012
I left for Europe for the very first time in my life on June 22nd, and I returned on June 29th. The purpose of the trip was to present at the Feminist Approaches to Bioethics Congress in Rotterdam. While in Holland, I also visited Den Haag, Schiedam, and Amsterdam. I also spent a partial day in Paris because....well, it's Paris!

Germany, England, + Wales, 2013
I had never visited any of these places before, and I had a rigorous conference and tour schedule. This was my first time traveling completely alone, not knowing anyone at my destinations.

Nicaragua, 2013
In September I traveled to Managua with my friend and colleague to present our work at a conference. We booked a private tour to see some of the other areas of Nicaragua that we were excited to see as well. Although Nicaragua is clearly still recovering from natural and political upheavals, we really enjoyed our time. The food, climate, scenery, and people were truly wonderful. And I got to exercise my Spanish, hooray!
