London
Since I had conferences in Munich and Caerleon during my March 2013 trip to Europe, I decided to stay a little bit of time in London. I first arrived at 11 pm on St. Patrick's Day, which meant there were lots of drunkies to keep me company as I made my way to the hotel. My first excursion to London lasted from the evening of March 17th until the morning of March 19th. I came back on March 21st and left for the U.S. on the 23rd. London is a beautiful and overwhelming city. There are many things I wish I had time to do, but I think I got a good feel for the town in my short time there. My little sisters are BBC-junkies, so it was fun finding them souvenirs in London. Little did I know that I would ultimately become addicted to Sherlock, and since that show glorifies modern day London (among other things), I am now dying to return. I promised my sisters that I would take them anywhere they wanted in the world when they graduated college if I have the money and time to do so (a big "if," granted). At the time I write this, they have both voted for London.
(And yes, the background image for the whole site is from London because I dig the city and its grey complexion.)
