Paris
For years I wanted to visit Paris. My ex and I almost went back when I was in undergrad, but we used the money to buy a dog instead (a bichon frise, zero regrets). I managed to visit twice--once very briefly in 2012 and again for a bit longer in 2014. Photos and videos from both trips are included on this page. The first time I was alone, and the second time I traveled with a friend and colleague. My first impression of Paris: gigantic, hot, overwhelming. My second impression: ridiculously good food, enormous and awesome museums, fantastic public transportation (best I've experienced anywhere), super expensive (except petit déjeuner, breakfast, where bargains are easy to find), beautiful.
2012 Trip
I only had ten hours on June 28th to spend in this gorgeous city, and I nearly died of heat stroke (slight exaggeration), but it was worth it. This jaunt was thanks to many recommendations from friends who said I should journey out to Paris if I had any free time during my Netherlands trip. I didn't imagine I would be able to go any time in the near future, so I went ahead and booked my train tickets. I walked along the Left Bank most of the day. With the summer heat and enormity of the city (maps are so misleading), one must remember to buy heavy souvenirs at the end of the day.
